Spring rape "Rubezh"

For the conditions of the central regions of Russia and Eastern Siberia a variety has been obtained, combining high productivity with high seed quality and resistance to main diseases. Since 2001 it has been included in the State Register of protected varieties (RF patent number 1031) and approved for production.

Variety pedigree: Interspecies hybridization of B.napus and B.rapa varieties “Global” x “WW 1727”.

Botanical characteristics. The plant is of medium height. The anthocyanin color of the plant is absent. The maximum width of the cotyledon is average. The anthocyanin color of hypocotyl is absent or very weak. The leaf is green, with no anthocyanin, the waxy coating of the leaf is average. The development leaf segments is weak. The leaf margin serration is average. The petal is yellow. The spotting of the anther is absent. The flowering time is average. The pod (called a 'silique') length (without the beak) is average. The pod beak is average. The seeds are round and black. 1000 seeds weight is 2.8-3.6 g.

Biological features. The variety is mid-ripening , the vegetation period is 88-130 days. It is resistant to lodging and seed shattering. The variety is characterized by a high degree of adaptation to the agro-climatic conditions of the regions of the European part of Russia and Eastern Siberia. The variety is affected by downy mildew and Alternaria at the level of Hannah variety and its resistance to Fusarium is significantly higher than the resistance of Hannah variety - 2.5 and 7.4 points, respectively. The variety is heavily damaged cruciferous flea beetles and slightly damaged by rape blossom beetle.

Competitiveness. Due to its high productivity, adaptability and seed quality “Rubezh” variety is quite competitive in the Central, Central Black Earth and East Siberian regions.

Main advantages. With high yields, high oil and seed quality, this variety is oriented for mechanical harvesting. The variety is recommended for seeds and animal feed purposes.

In the field tests conducted by FSBI ARIR the seed yield was 2.58 t / ha and significantly exceeded the standard , Hannah variety, by 0.52 t / ha or 28.4%.

Variety type "00". The oil has practically no erucic acid (0.13%), the content of glucosinolates in the seeds averages 0.69% (16.2 mol / g). The content of fat in the seeds is 40,0-43,1%.

The commercial value of the variety is in its high seed quality and feed efficiency, as in its high oil and meal quality, in its strong resistance to major pathogens, and its technology of cultivation and harvesting.
