For the conditions of the Northwest, middle and lower Volga regions a variety has been obtained by Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution, All-Russian Rapeseed Research Institute, together with the scientists of Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution , All-Russian Research Institute Of Oil Crops By V.S. Pustivoit ,which combines high productivity with high seed quality and strong resistance to common diseases. Since 2013 it has been included in the State Register of protected varieties (RF patent number 6976) and approved for use in production.
Variety pedigree: The variety has been obtained by hybridization of varieties Yarvelon and LG3260.

The anthocyanin hypocotyl coloration is average. The leaves are green with no anthocyanin. The wax coating on the upper side of the leaf is medium. The length and width indices of the leaf are medium. The number of leaf segments is low. The leafstalk is long, development degree is low. The leaf margin serration is weak. The petal colour is yellow, the length and width are average. The anther spotting is very weak. The flower stem is of a medium length. The flowering time is early-average. Biological features. The variety is mid-ripening, the vegetation period is 89-90 days. The lodging resistance is above the average, the resistance to seed shattering is below the average. The susceptibility to Alternaria, Fusarium and Phomosis is weak and at the standard level (Ratnik variety). It can be slightly damaged by cruciferous flea beetles and blossom beetles.
Competitiveness. Due to its high productivity and adaptability, as well as its high seed quality “Nabat” variety is quite competitive in the Northwest, middle Volga and lower Volga regions, where this variety has been added in the State Register and approved for production.
Main advantages. High yielding with the high oil and seed quality, this variety is oriented for mechanical harvesting. The variety is recommended for seeds and animal feed purposes in the Northwest, middle Volga and the lower Volga regions.
In the field tests conducted by FSBI ARIR (CSI 2008-2010) the seed yield was 2.30 t / ha, which exceeded the standard index (Ratnik variety) by the average of 0.32 t / ha or 16.2%. The highest seed yield of 2.95 t / ha was obtained in 2012 at Zelenograd state crop testing site of Kaliningrad region.
Variety type "00".The oil contains practically no erucic acid. The content of glucosinolates in the seeds is 0,57-0,59% (13,3-13,8 mmol / g), the content of crude fat is 38,0-44,8% (on the average it is 1.9% higher than the standard), the content of protein in the seeds is 23,7-29,3%.
The commercial value of “Nabat” variety lies in its ability to provide a stable yield of seeds and green mass in the Northwest, middle Volga and lower Volga regions of Russia.
