For the conditions of the North-West and Central Black Earth regions of Russia a variety has been created, combining high productivity with high quality seeds and resistance to main diseases. Since 2011 the variety has been included in the State Register of protected varieties (RF patent number 5768) and approved for production.
Variety pedigree: The variety has been obtained by individual selection from F2 combining varieties Lyra x Casol.

It is slightly damaged by Fusarium, Phomosis and Peronosporales, the susceptibility to Alternaria is average - at the level of the standard (Ratnik variety). It can be averagely damaged by cruciferous flea beetles and more seriously damaged by rape blossom beetle.
Competitiveness. Due to spring rape high productivity potential and seed quality variety Bulat is quite competitive in the Northwest and Central Black Earth regions, where this variety has been added to the State Register and approved for the use in production.
Main advantages. High yielding with the high oil and oilseed meal quality, this variety is technologically oriented for mechanical harvesting and is recommended for cultivation for seed and fodder purposes. It can also be used for green manure.
During the field trials (CSI 2006-2008) conducted by FSBI ARIR the seeds of that variety had a production level of 2.18 t / ha, which exceeds the standard index (Ratnik variety) by an average of 0.28 t / ha or 14.7%. The highest seed yield of 3.05 t / ha was obtained in 2010 by Zelenograd state seed-trial ground in Kaliningrad region.
Variety type "00". The oil has practically no erucic acid , the content of glucosinolates in the seed is 0,44-0,64% (10,3-14,9 mmol / g). The content of crude fat in variety seeds is 41,8-44,5% (in the average 1.2% higher than the standard variant index), protein content is 21,9-22,3%.
The commercial value of “Bulat” variety is in its high seed yield, high oil and seed quality, its resistance to main pathogens, its technology of cultivation and harvesting.
