Barbarea spring variety "Lipchanka"

For different regions of Russia a high yielding spring variety of Barbarea has been produced, combining high yields with high seed quality and resistance to major diseases. Since 2004 it has been included in the State Register of protected varieties and approved for production (RF patent №2654).

Variety pedigree: the variety has been created by individual family selection from the hybrid population obtained by crossing Sv.155 x Sv. 153 Swedish varieties.

The variety is moderately damaged by cruciferous flea beetles and rape blossom beetle.

Competitiveness. Due to its high yield potential, the quality of its seeds the variety “Lipchanka” is quite competitive in all 12 regions of Russia.

Main advantages. With high yields, high oil and seed quality, this variety is oriented for mechanical harvesting. The variety is recommended for seeds and animal feed purposes.

In the tests conducted by FSBI ARIR (2000-2003 gg.) the seed yield was on the average 1.87 t / ha, which exceeded the standard by 0.09 t / ha.

Variety type "00". Erucic acid is practically absent in the oil. The content of glucosinolates in oil meal is 1,39-1,84% (32,5-43,1 mmol / g) , the content of fat in the seeds is 44,1-47,7%, the content of protein is 21,2-22,9%.

The commercial value of the variety is in its advantage over the standard varieties due to its higher yields, its high oil and meal quality, its resistance to major pathogens and its technology of cultivation and harvesting.

Lipchanka spring variety is able to provide high seed yield and green mass in the regions of the Russian Federation, where spring rape cannot be cultivated.
